ORU CUISINE: A RESTAURANT WITH A HEART FOR THE KIDS 

Our family went on a spur of the moment road trip to Vancouver in Canada. We were admiring the architecture of the different buildings in downtown Vancouver. It was clear that it was their central business district as the streets were abuzz with people going to and from the offices. There was a corporate feel in the area. We also enjoyed looking at the art galleries with their contemporary art pieces. All of the art and architecture were lovely to look at but our tummies were also telling us that it was time to eat. Vancouver’s downtown area also features some modern and chic restaurants. All you have to do is choose which among them you would like to try. Since we were near the Fairmont Pacific Rim, we decided to try the food at Oru Cuisine. It looked intimidating from the outside but once you go inside, the staff will make you feel special from their service to the food that they offer. I was a bit apprehensive because we have our picky seven year old with us. But apparently, there was no need to worry about what he would eat. Oru Cuisine has specially chosen a selection of dishes that kids will surely love and enjoy the fun food presentation to the delicious taste. They have Spaghetti with Meatballs, Kid’s Margherita Pizza, and Penne Alfredo for those who love pasta. Their main dishes include All Natural Beef Hotdogs, House-made Mini Burgers, Baked Chicken Strips, Grilled Chicken Breast, and Grilled Wild Salmon. Kids also get to choose their side dish for the main dishes such as Baked Potato Wedges, Baked Yam Fries, Olive Oil Smashed Potatoes, Grilled Vegetable Skewers and Rice, and Raw vegetables with Yoghurt Dip. Their special desserts for kids include Low Fat Gluten Free Vegan Chocolate Brownie, Apple with Caramel Dip, Strawberries with Chocolate and Coconut Pudding, and Mixed Fruit and Yoghurt. These treats come in kiddie sizes to make sure that they do not go overboard on their sweets. I was relieved that my son liked the food that he ordered and he said that he wanted to go back to try the other dishes.
